Class Description

HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. The concept of HypnoBirthing® is not new, but rather captures what naturally happens in birth when birth happens naturally.  This perspective was reintroduced most recently in the work of Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, an English obstetrician, who, in the 1920s, was one of the first to teach the concept of natural birthing. The method teaches you that, in the absence of fear and tension, or special medical circumstances, severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of labor.
The class is designed to teach mothers and their birth companions techniques for achieving a safe and satisfying birth experience through guided imagery, visualization, and special breathing.  The class is a series of five, three hour classes.  It is recommended for women to take the class any time after their twelfth week of pregnancy.  A partner is encouraged to attend.
During class you will gain an understanding of how the birthing muscles work in perfect harmony when your body is sufficiently relaxed and you trust birth. You will learn how to achieve this kind of relaxation, free of the resistance that fear creates, and you will learn to use your natural birthing instincts for a calm, serene and comfortable birth.

The class is  designed to build your confidence and help you to have a safer, easier, and more comfortable birthing

Class size is limited to five couples to ensure personal attention.
